It IS grubby and exploitative, no argument there.

But no more than grooming guys on OnlyFans and charging them to see your butthole.

It saddens me the way that both physical and emotional prostitution has been normalised. I get that it's always happened, but it's now mainstream. Young girls are seeing it now as an aspiration, rather than a dirty secret.

Maybe it always was like this though, I remember girls in the 80s talking about marrying a millionaire just before they died so they would get all the money, but now it's just been given a tech platform and a name. Transaction based relationships have been a part of human behaviour since year dot.

There is definitely a deeper conversation to be had here.

I would actually say that it's a form of grooming and the emotional exploitation of lonely old men.

Anyhow, all that aside, surely we must agree that this kind of 'employment' is pretty below what most women are capable of being and that in an ideal world they would be aspiring to be more than online groomers for cash?

It does sound like a sordid, seedy way of ‘earning’ well getting money

People don't always want what is in their own best interests, some times they are suffering from a type of addiction, other times they actually believe the groomer and think there might actually be a future in it. By the time they find out there isn't ofc they have often lost a LOT of money.

Yeah romance scams have skyrocketed in recent years and this doesn't seem too far from it. You see it on dating apps a lot where loads of profiles are basically just designed to trap people into giving money or buying someone things without getting anything in return. Sure there might be a few rich people who are very clear eyed that there is nothing in it for them, their only purpose is to fund a pretty young woman's lifestyle (although why that would ever be an appealing notion I don't know). But there are probably many more who think there will be some meaning attached to it and not realise how purely transactional and empty the connection is

It's tricky because men are absolute idiots at times, especially when it comes to attractive women, and/or men/sex etc. There are women on streaming sites such as twitch (which isn't supposed to be pornographic, but 100% allows low tier softcore porn because it makes them so much money) who make incredible incomes by men subbing to them, donating, dropping bits. Thousands do it, and they know full well they'll never get more than a "thank you" and pretty smile in return.

Amouranth is, or was probably the most popular example. Already a multi millionaire through streaming in a bikini and allowing thirsty boys/men to thirst over her (no talent, does literally nothing but show off her body). Anyway, she started selling farts in a jar for $1,000. Yep, her "own" farts in a jar for a grand, she couldn't keep up with the demand. Ridiculous stuff.

I think Nancy is pretty bland, but will reserve judgement on this one.

ETA. Amouranth isnt the best example actually, as she did allow one of her biggest donors to think she wasn't married, and kept a pretence with him that she was single during their frequent DMs, Think she got about 50K out of him before he built up enough courage to ask her out for a date, she obviously had no choice at that point to admit she was married.

Grooming to create an emotional bond is key. The extraction of money comes after.
