I say hang on a mo please as i have a call on my mobile brb one sec ok. Then i pretend to be talking on the mobile loud enough so they can here me say... Yes police officer they are here on my land line again,can you please trace the call now. They soon sod off when i do that!

We pass it around the family and speak in different languages, one of my daughters speaks Spanish, the other Mandarin, i try French and hubby.......well he does what ever accent comes to him

You should ask where they are calling from and for the name of their company. If they are calling from anywhere inside the EU from the EU they have to follow the ICO guidelines. This means when you ask to be removed from their calling list and your data mustn't be sold on to other marketing companies, they are obliged to follow your instructions. If you don't do this, they just keep selling your information on and you will continue to get cold calls.

If they are outside of the EU there is absolutely nothing you can do about it because they are a law unto themselves.

I'm really polite coz I used to work in a call centre so I feel sorry for them! They spend all day getting sworn at and hung up on for not very much pay
