Do you see dating someone over the internet as a bad thing or a good thing?
I can personally see more disadvantages than advantages, such as the fact that there's obviously no physical benefits to the 'relationship' which I'm sure in the long run would do more harm than good, as even though physical affection can be seen as unnecessary, it's beneficial...
I know someone who met her husband online and dated over the internet before they met and married and was glad she met him online.
Opinions?

Meeting somone online,you don't really know them well just what they have typed where as meeting somone out in real life you know they are real but still you don't really know them so im ok with it TBH.

I doubt it will ever beat working in close proximity with someone or sharing an activity or interest with someone who lives near you.

It kind of is a hoover for those who are either back in the market and do not qualify for points one and two above and or the hapless.

And yeah, hmm its alright I think Online Dating is abit sad tbh but yeah if you do run out of women to chat up in your local area, the girls you do know all have a bad opinion of you, then you may need to turn to the good old internet.

My Dad uses online dating sites, and picked up a few girls.
Most of them were ugly,horrible,bitches,mean and sluts.
But one of them was a really nice women, she wasnt that nice in looks but she was a nice girl and I use to think Online Dating was filled with Peados/Sluts/Old People.

I think spending the time on the Internet is alright to get to know someone, and if you do decide to meet up and see how things go then yeah, thats cool.

So long as you accept the limitations of the relationship initially, its a perfectly acceptable form of meeting people. There are advantages and disadvantages same as there are with any other method of meeting people.

I think the main stigma comes as a carry over from the fact that most of the earlier online dating sites were set up for casual sexual encounters.

Meeting someone online is ok but I think it would definately be wise to meet in person before deciding to become a couple. These people who decide to get married before they've even actually met eachother in person are crazy imo!

It must be desperation because I know you can get on with people through just speaking to them and all but you need to meet them to see if there's a spark atleast, plus I really am a firm believer in you don't really know a person until you live with them and don't even think people should decide to get married until they've lived with eachother for a bit first.

I think it's ok - I have friends who do it and have met some ok guys but also some weirdo guys!

I am not someone that trusts too easily so I think I would have reservations and also think when they are contacting me and meeting me they are online loking for the BBD!
