It's a form of autism but instead of making people introvert, they're very extrovert and are often (if not always) hyper active.

Yeah as a kid.. I liked to be alone as well but could be headstrong, hyperactive.. not sure about the extrovert part though.

I have it.

I don't have time to explain it all because I have to go watch Eastenders but basically you find it really hard in social situations and your social skills is quite bad and other stuff such as knowing alot about something you aren't actually focussed on, one minute you may be very focussed on one thing and then not care about it the next.
A big part of it is you act quite awkward in social situations with other people.

If he does have it, it's mild as you suggest
But I don't think he has it
My friend has Asperger's, it's a form of autism, a social impairment which makes it difficult for the sufferer to understand people, and often like to be alone (generalising a bit). It is also common for sufferers to have a specific talent or strength, for example my friend has an amazing memory for dates and history etc, other affected people are fantastic mathematicians or musicians, for example.

No way. I have a friend who has it and she gets frightened around new people/certain situations. John James is a confident person who will take anyone on in any argument.

No, JJ has a borderline personality disorder - he displays most of the symptoms. He has severe trust issues which seem to be at the root of his anger.

Bit of a strong diagnosis there Dr Angus lol. I do see him as very emotionally immature though.

He admitted tonight that he has a pathological hatred of liars!

not that he dislikes liars - he has a pathological hatred for them!

But how do we know how deep this 'hatred' actually is?

If you had seen the conversation you'd know what I mean, but it will never make the HLs or be covered on the BB site!

I said pathological, does that tell you anything?

I was married to a BPD sufferer for over 12 years so I recognise a lot of the symptoms. It is not unusual for many people to suffer with BPD and not be aware of it.

JJ's severe trust issues in particular are a dead giveaway: He admits he records telephone conversations, keeps all emails and letters "for evidence" and checks timetables to ensure that people are telling him the truth. He made a strong attachment to one person (Josie) very quickly in the house and she serves as his "security blanket". That is why if he felt she betrayed him (like over the crab eyes incident) he over-reacted because it was an issue of trust for him to find she had lied.

His constant arguments are a way of channelling his inner aggression into a more socially accepted interaction, but he has difficulty in accepting other people's versions of events, and will often convince himself he is right when he is not. He can be turned off a person just by a look or a gesture (Rachael), and will be relentless in his pursuit of a point, however misguided.

I think he has some of the symptoms in different degrees of severity, and I would not give much hope to anyone getting invovled in a long term relationship with this guy.

He more or less told Josie on the couch tonight that he has a pathological hatred of liars, she was appalled at this psycopathic admission, even though she's not the sharpest tack in the box.

I'm shocked that some people here have no idea what it is. Zippy? I thought you were a smart arse.

Anyway, I personally think mild asbergers is much more common than most people think. I have it. Mild. I voted yes. I think JJ shows signs of it.

I noticed someone say their son has it so they'd know the signs which is a fair point but there's different levels of it, and most people who know they have it know cos' it's an intense level of it. Me I didn't find out 'til last year, and my dad almost certainly has it and still doesn't know (even though people have told him, he denies it and gets asberger angry) and he will never accept that he has bad asbergers' much worse than me cos' he's so old fashioned. He's basically isolated himself from society and me and my brother can hardly stand him anymore. You got asbergers' then you gotta' accept it and learn to deal with it basically.

I think JJ has it, mild spectrum.

Yeah I have it too.. well mild autism.. I was acting different when I was like 1/2 years old then well my parents found out that I was part of the autistic spectrum. Aww I don't have an amazing talent.. which is a shame. Sometimes when someone asks you a question.. it is like you have to think of it twice as long before answering at times.. or there is a lot of other traits to do with it too. Lol I don't mind being alone either. I don't like being around a group of people for too long. I get nervous and flustered around big crowds of people.. at my work..I have only just got used to being around quite a few people.

I don't think JJ has it.. but I could be wrong.
