Ultimate Big Brother winner Brian Dowling has admitted that he would be interested in fronting BB, if it moves to Channel Five.

The 32 year old has previously presented SMTV Live, ITV’s Brian’s Boyfriends, as well as narrating the Channel 4 reality show The Salon. In a chat with The Sun he revealed that he is keen to get back to TV work and said:

“Vernon Kay asked me why I’m not on TV the other day and I just don’t know. I hope it happens.”

When asked about rumours that Five wanted him to front BB next year, he added:

“I’d be a d**k to say ‘No’. But by the time it comes back, people might say, ‘Brian who?’”

Five is thought to be in talks with Endemol about buying the reality TV show format and the Total Big Brother fansite recently discovered that an English council have granted the company planning permission to keep the BB house up until at least 2013.

I would be happy for him to be the new presenter. He could do it for like 10 years.

Then 10 years after that.. someone else take over the reins!

Davina remains my first choice. If not her, then Dermot or Emma Willis. I'm against ex HMs taking over as presenters but if there's anyone worthy of it it would be Brian purely because he's the 'Ultimate HM'.

Agreed!

Actually I am not really against this. I also would not mind if someone like Luke Marsden took over Big Brother's Big Mouth.

But each to their own.

Lol, you're against it but not? I don't get you lol

I see it as further favouritism from producers. I was weirded out when Kirsty Gallagher started presentign The Games the year after she was in it, and in I'm A Celeb... Now they've had Tara Palmer Tomkinson, Matt Willis AND Joe Swash present it.

I really like Brian but he's the only one worthy of presenting it IMO because he's the 'ultimate HM'. If someone random like Luke (who I also liked), or (eurgh) Nikki Grahame, presented it I wouldn't be amused.

Luke and Nikki would not be good enough to take Davina's role. The ONLY person I can think of doing that.. who is a ex housemate is Brian Dowling.. but only if he is commited to the show. Not sure if Brian has watched Big Brother since he won bb2?? Is he a full on fan of the show?

However Emma Willis would be a good one or just someone who is a half decent presenter and who is so passionate and obsessed with the show.

I think Luke Marsden from bb9 would be good enough to present Big Brother's Big Mouth but not the main show..... lol

I disagree. If BB moves to C5 it needs a makeover to make it work which includes a new presenter, I seriously doubt Dermot would do it and I like Emma but I don't she'd be good at interviewing the evictees. Brian is perfect, he's charming and funny and quick witted, he can think on his feet which is necessary in that job

Hmm, I suppose that's where I'm also a bit apprehensive about an ex HM taking over if it's intended to be the start if a new era. If an ex HM is picked to become the new presenter does this mean we'd expect more Nikki Grahame as a guest on Big Mouth (or whatever spin-off shows they do)? Or find some other way to bring past HMs back in for tasks? Is it that obvious I just never want to see Nikki on my TV again? Lol

I agree with you about not wanting Nikki on my screen ever again! I just really want to see more of Brian, I think he has a real talent as an entertainer, people love him and I think he would end being as loved as Davina

I do think Dermot would also be very good, but I can't see him returning to BB

I wouldnt want Brian presenting BB - he is just to silly, if Davina did not comeback there is only one former hm who is an ultimate fan as well as ultimate hm who has the love and enthusiam to do it imo.
