IGN are predicting the announcement of GTA V at the Electronic Entertainment Expo which kicks off this Tuesday and runs until Thursday.

Although just like last year, Rockstar has no significant presence at E3 this year, and we haven't heard much about an E3 reveal until recently, so we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

For more information, make sure to tune into the Sony and Microsoft press conferences which can be seen live on the E3 website.

Don't get too excited. Last time GTA IV was announced at E3 all they said was 'GTA IV will be coming out, dudes'. We had to wait another month or so for the trailer.

No it's not.

It will be called GTA V, Rockstar have even referred to it as that.
Yeah it will most likely use RAGE engine again - which is a shame, as they should really use whatever RDR was made on.

But at the end of the day GTA III had 2 Expansion Packs; Vice City and San Andreas.
It's quite hard to believe they are merely expansions - and GTA IV had 2 Expansions; Lost and Dammed and Gay Tony.


It's certainly time for them to go onto the 5th Game now.

I really struggle to believe they're going to just release 'Grand Theft Auto IV: [INSERTCITYHERE].'

I could be wrong - but from what I've read on the other GTA Forums, it's very much likely that the 4th Generation ended in October 2009 when TBOGT came out.

That's because they aren't. They are full games. You must be seriously taking the piss if you think anyone considers either of those two games a simple expansion pack. They are fully features games that stand alone.

BOGT and TLAD were no way full games they had like 20 mission and were billed as expansions to GTA 4 rather than been stand alone. Im sure San Andreas had over 100 odd missions in total.

But yeah I agree with what you're saying, The 4th Era definetely wont be over yet.

I think what Stu means is, they didn't really leech of GTA IV, they stood up as good games/stories in their own right, they added tonnes of new features, and each had a completely different feel. Also they weren't cheap last minute DLC, the way they tied into Niko's story made it obvious they were planned from the start.

... what? I never claimed Ballad or Lost & Damned were full games. I was talking about Vice City and San Andreas.

No, they're not. 'Because I read it in a magazine somewhere' is not proof of something. Nobody considers San Andreas or Vice City expansion packs. They're not.

'I read it on a forum' is not proof of something either. Good god. Think things through before you post man. Rockstar have yet to open their mouths on the title of this game. This is a fact. They have not said it will be called Grand Theft Auto V. There is a difference between facts and fanboy speculation.

It is considered part of the same generation of games because it is on the same generation of consoles and is using the same game engine. It's the way Rockstar always work.
