TiBB'S TOP SONG OF 2014
Welcome to the Top Song of 2014. If you're not sure of what this whole shebang is, here're a few links to previous years:

We'll begin with a Top 200 of the year, hand-picked through the following methods:
- Any song that has appeared in the Top 15 of the UK single charts at any point from January 1 2013 to December 31 2013.
- Of those, songs released in 2012 - either as a single, or on an album released before July 2012 - have been removed.
- Also, songs that have appeared in previous editions of this game cannot count.
- And finally, re-releases of songs don't count (sorry, The Pogues), and charity singles don't either (because, really, who wanted to vote Band Aid 30 anyway?) I've also removed Dapper Laughs from the list because I have taste.
- I've shoved in a handful of songs that did well in critics' "end of the year" lists from the likes of NME, Popjustice and Pitchfork too.
I have bolded these.
- To save the list from becoming too repetitive, artists are restricted to just their 3 highest-charting songs. This rule has only affected Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran and Calvin Harris this year.
So here's how it will work..
PRELIMINARY ROUND I've compiled a list of 200 songs below, picked from singles that made the top 15 of the UK charts this year, songs that did well in critics' end-of-year lists (bolded), and songs you've voted or randomised into the game (red).
Round 1: Out of the top 200, each member can choose their favourite FIFTEEN songs. The songs that get any votes will move onto Round 2.
Round 2: Out of the remaining 125, each member can choose their favourite TWELVE songs.
Round 3: Out of the remaining 90, each member can choose their favourite TEN songs, as well as their least favourite THREE.
Round 4: Out of the remaining 67, each member can choose their favourite TEN songs only. All songs with 1 vote or fewer shall be eliminated.
Round 5: Out of the remaining 52, each member can choose their favourite EIGHT songs, as well as their least favourite THREE.
Round 6: Out of the remaining 40, each member can choose their favourite SIX songs.
Round 7: Out of the remaining 32, each member can choose their favourite SIX songs. All songs with 2 or fewer votes are eliminated.
Round 8: Out of the remaining 24, each member can choose their favourite SIX songs, and TWO least favourite ones.
Round 9: Out of the remaining 20, each member can choose their favourite FOUR songs.
Final: Rank the final 11 songs from first to last in order of preference!
I'll leave it there because this is often too inconvenient and unpredictable to describe at the start of the game. WE WILL GET THERE, though.
