Default In the EU vote, do you believe that the outcome will be legitimate (i.e. not rigged)?

Do you believe that if a majority of voters go to the polls wanting to vote to leave, that this will be the reported result? Stalin once said that it is not who casts the vote but who counts them that really matters. I am an observer from across the sea but it seems to me that all of the establishment is in favor of remain as is the media. Do you think there is any real possibility of voter fraud if the actual results don't go the way the elite want?

we have an independent voting commission monitoring together with both sides examining the voting and counting, so, yes, i believe the outcome will be legitimate

You're clearly not observing hard enough, then

Well there is an official investigation in the general election as it was suspicious that Cameron and the Tories won a majority so I'm not sure.

That's more in line with what I was thinking. Actually, I think anyone who benefits from the status quo will not allow it. The corporations, the big banks, and the politicians eyeing a nice easy, lucrative job in Brussels.

The older I get the more I feel the primary function of elections is to placate the electorate by making them think their voice matters.

The majority of people want to stay in the EU and they'll vote accordingly, it's not corruption, it's democracy and sour grapes from Brexit supporters.

If the government really wanted to rig it in favour of Remain they could have done two things: give 16 and 17 year olds the vote and allow expats abroad to vote. Both would have pretty much guaranteed the victory. They did neither.

I agree, they could have even put in a lock to help as to the result too, such as 2 UK Nations had to vote to leave for it to be binding on the govt, or link any result to turnout or even a minimum majority needed for it to be binding.

The way David Cameron has in the end done this referendum, has not in any way assisted the remain side.
More credit to him for that and I have criticised heavily him not giving 16/17 years olds the vote on this as to 'their' futures.

If the leave side fail to win here narrowly, they should be grateful it was not a likely even bigger loss to their cause.

Of course he could and both Labour and the SNP would have supported it so he could have had a Commons majority

I don't believe that the UK will leave the EU, by hook or by crook.

To directly answer your question, no i don't believe that if the majority votes out it will be reported. only if it was a huge landslide would it happen, but we all know it's not a huge landslide which makes it easy for them to make sure it won't happen.

It won't happen, and it won't be allowed to happen even if it narrowly did get the most votes. It would have to be a landslide which it won't be.
