Everyone is talking about this new man hating Gillette advert.
Any opinions on here? Have they just destroyed themselves by attacking their main customers? Will they bring out an advert for their female products showing how horrible women are? Last edited by Alf; 15-01-2019 at 02:22 PM. |

The aim of this is to get men and women to buy gillette products for men only, no other aim. That is all. They take what is fashionable and use it to sell goods to young people. Their marketing research would have suggested that this will work and if it does - well done them. Cynical and clinical. boom. Last edited by Crimson Dynamo; 15-01-2019 at 02:25 PM. |

I agree with this but;
I also agree with this ![]() I don't think it's man-hating, but I do think it's disingenuous, hollow, meaningless trash. Latching onto something as serious as abuse and sexual assault for no other reason than to sell their product... it's soulless. It would take a HELL of a lot to make me believe that Gilette actually gives a flying **** about anything more than their bottom line. That's just not how large companies work. They're about $Ł$, not people, full stop. But then, I also feel utterly nauseated at every John Lewis bloody Christmas advert and most people seem to love them so... I guess the marketing works. Blergh. (Also I assume Gilette are struggling at the moment because realistically who clean-shaves in 2019? ONLY sexual predators so they really are going to alienate their core market) Last edited by user104658; 15-01-2019 at 02:52 PM. Reason: Holy **** is it 2019 already? |

Some could argue it's a bit OTT for a Gillette ad , but i've watched plenty of ads that beat around the bush and you even forget what they're advertising until the logo pops up at the end
![]() ![]() I guess it's also interpretation , is it just trying to show something positive in the end ? or is it just latching onto another agenda . |

There was nothing in that advert that was portrayed as exaggerated or misleading though
