Default Do you have access to battered chips at your local chippy?
Battered (or Orange) chips are a staple of a black country chippy and i know its very rare to get them outside of the midlands.

Yeah I was going to say, "salt & pepper chips" from Chineses up here are often battered. Depends where you get them, it's probably about 50/50 whether they'll be battered or not. The battered ones are nicer though .
