My mothers Doctor recommended taking Calcium, women especially once they get to 40 as we're more susceptible to getting osteoporosis in older life

Yeah a multi vitamin and green tea tablets. Not really a supplement but i've been adding Cacao to my smoothies, that's packed full of goodness and gives some real natural energy. My endurance for cardio has almost doubled since adding a couple of tea spoons of that stuff.

I've been known to steal a kid's gummy vitamin or two...
...but more generally, I'd say vitamin supplements should be taken if you know for a fact you have a specific deficiency... not just 'cos on top of a healthy diet - if you don't have a deficiency I doubt there's much point. |

It's recommended to take a B12 supplement if you don't eat much meat as that's our main source. I used to get B12 injections once a month when I was a vegetarian as a teenager

I've just been booked in for a 2 week course of 3 injections per week (startling on Monday), then I'll be getting an injection per week on an on-going basis. Dr told me it was dairy products not meat, but she asked if I was a Vegan.
