I used to search through the 50p bags on my lunch breaks for Beatrix Potter and 2012 Olympics 50p's because some of them go for Ł5 - Ł10 . Only ever found a few worth bothering with the hassle of selling. Plus you have to take the 50p hit of replacing it with a generic coin .

I once worked with a fella who thought he'd found a super-rare Ł2 worth over Ł500, he googled it and was getting all excited, but it turned out it wasn't the one he thought it was and it was only worth about Ł8 .

Ł6 profit is better than a poke in the eye with a stick, to be fair.
