It wouldn't be instant, as DBS forms require you to disclose any names you were known as before - I always skim over that bit because my birth name is my name lol, but I'd assume it's in the past five years, like with addresses?

Either way, child abuse shouldn't be so easy to hide, crimes should be attached to NI numbers or something else immutable. Branded on their foreheads, maybe.

I once spoke to a prison officer who was in the job 30 years working in categorie A prisons
During a cell search of a child molester they found detailed notes of the abuse he planned when he got out

They took what they found to the governor but he said nothing could be done

The scum bag got released and carried out the attack to the letter which included rapping the victim in barbed wire .

There’s very, very little justice out there for victims of abuse (including victims of narcissistic abuse). The mum just made sure that vile paedo got he deserved (and I hope it was a painful death).

He'd have gotten a slap on the wrist, if that, and likely gone on to traumatise some other kids too. "The course of justice" is shaky at the best of times, and at it's worst in sexual assault cases.
