Tbh I take whatever the showrunner says as canon and he's pretty firm on it being that Cassie ended the paradox and that the leaves are just autumn leaves (but yeah they definitely knew they'd spark a debate on the matter with that last shot )

Interesting that Sam was still born without the plague happening. I'm guessing there's a good chance of Athan being born again too since Cole and Cassie are reunited.

Bit strange though that Cole now exists without being born. Hannah technically isn't his mother anymore

Honestly the more I think about it the more I think saving Cole was unnecessary. Cassie remembering him and buying the house was perfect.
