The majority of the episodes this year so far have been majority filler, haven't they? Karen getting a new bathroom, Mick becoming a coach for a football team etc. You can tell the show's in its transition period.
To be fair though I watched Emmerdale through Kate Oates' run and most of her big storylines started off in the same sort of way, so hopefully all these loose stories will come to mean something once she has fully taken over the show. |

Evie has grown on me, probably the only story I care about atm. Bernadette has been a tad annoying lately so the dragging from Evie was justified
The football storyline is the worst since the chess one. |

The entire episode was awful.
The Evie storyline is pathetic. The stuart bullying old dr legg storyline isn't interesting its uncomfortable to watch, Stuart doesn't fit in with dot so why is he even there.... The Kat & Alfie stuff is the same rehashed bull**** every other episode And after all that we still havent had any update on the Mel/Hunter/Ray storyline wtf???? I don't know why I'm still watching at this point

I'm pretty sure they're setting it up so that Stuart inadvertently causes Dr Legg to have a heart attack or something like that, which would be a real insult to the memory of the character. Stuart has become utterly unbearable since living with Dot, and his overgrown child routine is... annoying, to say the least.

Every episode this year has been terrible and that includes the laughable ott plot with Mel/Hunter and Ray which has randomly disappeared from our screens overnight. WTF is happening with that storyline? Its one of the worst executed in recent EE history apart from so many people over the Christmas period almost dying and characters declaring they were dead by checking their pulse for a second. The Alfie dead in the living room scenario almost made me switch off but Eastenders is a Christmas tradition.
Stuart bullying Dr Legg is just random and not at all enjoyable to watch, it seems his story line with Mick has also totally disappeared for some reason which is a shame because his story line with Linda/Mick over Christmas was the only good thing about the show. The whole coach thing is cringe to watch its another attempt at EE trying to be funny like Corrie and failing miserably just like when they try to do "youth" issues which come across as being written by someone much older and out of touch with the younger audience. The girl who plays Evie is a brilliant actress but the whole triangle thing with Burnadette is doing my nut in simply because Burney is getting a **** load of airtime and she is such a miserable twat. Alfie is doing my head in "blue moon funerals good way to go" ZzZzZ. It seems like him and Kat have had the same story line repeated over and over for well over a decade now. Does anyone actually like Alfie? I don't see his appeal. I have no idea why im still watching tbh lol with so many big stories left unfinished or ignored i feel embarrassed for the writing team. |

It's weird. Bringing Dr Legg back for a final story and giving him the character who's been there for about 5 minutes.
 Surely it would give Kathy something to do (and maybe a character who actually remembers/knows him) to help Dot take care of him? Like, where is Sonia? Surely she'd have objected to Stuart staying there from the beginning? Last edited by Marsh.; 15-01-2019 at 07:23 PM. |
