Manchester is a great city (I do prefer Liverpool myself but Manchester is still great!), ignore what people are saying Smithy it’s a HUGE city and has something to offer for everyone.

I’m excited for you, Smithy.

I hope all goes well. I know how stressful it can be to move to a new place (as I’m sure a lot of people do) but all I can tell you is to embrace change. In terms of the housing, I think luck plays a part in it so my advice is to constantly search to improve your chances of luck.

London isn’t all bad, there’s a few ****holes and admittedly it is overpriced hence why many would avoid to live here but I suppose everyone’s experiences are different. I’ve never been to Manchester personally (although I would be very inclined to visit if Hacienda was still open ) but I’m sure it has its good and bad areas like anywhere else. Whatever you choose Smithy I wish you the best of luck with the move

Update: they emailed saying I needed to be in employment in order to get a flat with them, I explained my situation and said I’d pay 6 months rent in advance (on a 6 month lease) and that after that could we review the situation and they emailed me back to organise a viewing
