Most of the troop build up is concentrated on the border of areas which are already effectively under Russian control or have been in a state of conflict for years so the threat is not really a new one. If you've remained in place throughout the conflict then you're unlikely to leave now I think

Maybe if you're in the north of the country the threat is now increased as that was previously pretty safe but Russia could now invade from Belarus but it's still a massive call to make to uproot everything based on something that might happen if you've got nowhere to go and you're not sure when you'd ever return

for the moment yes, but that is why they made sure of a top 25 advance to the next round instead of usual top 24, in case Vallieva has to pull out after all, but for the time being no statement was made so she was able to take part in the first round

Hopefully the end result will be that nobody gets invaded.

And tbh what does Russia expect to achieve, yes they have China and Belarus as allies, but do they really expect to beat USA, UK, Japan, France, Australia, Ukraine and Germany would have to join our side because of having more allies on our side than trying to maintain a decent relationship with Russia.

Basically they'd be causing havoc just to end up getting slaughtered, hopefully they can see this too.
