according to Russia's Interfax News Agency.

His efforts to democratise his country's
political system and decentralise its
economy led to the break-up of the Soviet Union in 1991.]

That's sad, he's probably the main reason the cold war ended when it did although the last few months have basically reversed his achievements there. I wonder what he thought of Putin and how his legacy is seen now in Russia

He definitely deserves his place in history. I think to a large extent he had no option but to go along with everything that happened but I think he was a very positive influence

I always thought he was evil because of his menacing birthmark, I though boris was the good guy. But turns out he was a good man also.
