For anyone who watched the film The Queen, which dealt with Diana's death and the build to her funeral.

My parents thought the film to be pretty accurate.
I was only 5.
How do others feel as to if that film demonstrated things more than likely how it was.

It didn't show the Royals in a particularly good light.
I'm just curious what others view was on that film.

i think the monarchy was within 24 hours of being scrapped, people were outraged by the royals behaviour. Its difficult to know who said what from the royal family, but the queen didnt want to bend protocol one millimetre and it was Tony Blair that persuaded her in the end. That's probably why she gave him a knighthood not that long ago

As soon as the Queen eventually arrived, the crowd were all over her, giving her flowers. All was forgiven in a heartbeat.
She thought she was doing the right thing, being there with the boys at Balmoral who needed her way more than the man in the street.

I haven’t watched the film but from my view point, Diana’s death was hard To take in and is still hard to believe all these years later.

I think the level of sadness and sorrow that was on show was on a level never seen before.
It took a lot of people by surprise.
