Matthew and his friends use this - honestly since he started high school I have had to learn a whole new vocabulary to eavesdrop on his conversations

In forty years it'll sound as ridiculous as 'far out, daddy-o'.

And I thought that Oxford people were supposed to be smart, not promoting a word that sounds like that it came off of TOWIE.

It's complicated these days; as with a lot of Gen Z colloquialism, a vital part of getting the correct usage is understanding that it's almost always used semi-ironically. There's a sort of tongue-in-cheek deprecating self awareness in the way today's young teens speak to each other. It's quite fascinating really.

I find it fascinating how far into deadpan their online humour presents as, I feel very removed from it at my grand old age of 32 and can only sometimes follow... rizz I think comes from charisma, or at least that's what I tell myself as I reminisce about awkward turtles and such like...

I think your theory sounds logical. Charisma is such a great word though!

I don’t know why but rizz sounds like a word that would be used by guys in the pub to describe having a pee. ‘Hold that thought, mate, as I’m just going for a rizz’!

It makes perfect sense if its a shortening of charisma

I'm known for my rizz around town

I don't know why, but it makes me think of Ritz Biscuits, but with Cum as the flavour.
