Shameful seems a bit ott

As far as I can see NHS staff are still held in very high regard by the public

What is this scapegoat nonsense you keep rabbiting about. Nobody blames the NHS for corona. Yeah people bemoan the years long waiting lists we have now, but they still dont blame the workers for that from what I see and read. They do say the NHS is in a state though, which it is, but that's not the dr and nurses doing, and the public see that. So I'm not sure what the clappers are doing or saying for you to accuse them all of turning on the NHS workers

So long as they can refer to them as "angels" and not increase their pay by a penny. Highly regarded martyrs.

"Shameful" isn't OTT at all as a description of how British politicians and the British public treat healthcare professionals.

I'm not referring to the clapping at the time as shameful - that was just silly hive mind nonsense, I doubt anyone who did it gave it more than an ounce of thought.

The fact that the same people who were stood banging tubs completely turned on those same people they were clapping for as soon as they said "hey maybe pay us fairly" - that is shameful. No other word for it.

But as we've discovered no one was clapping for the NHS after all, they were clapping for themselves and their neighbours. Parmy and Zizu said so.

And you have an issue with people doing that for themselves and their neighbours during a time when people believed it could be catastrophic..I find that shamefully inhumane.

The public haven't had much of a say in that tbf. We haven't had an election since 2019 and it looks like the current gov are going to be totally annihilated the first chance the public has had. Support for various strike action has been fairly high across much of the country as well.

I think you're overly harsh on the public, it's not exactly been sunshine and rainbows for most people ever since the pandemic

I don't have a problem with them doing that for themselves, I have a problem with them pretending it was for NHS staff when it was for themselves.

This isn't a hard concept to grasp and you're not thick so I'm going to assume you're choosing to not understand.

Then there is no need to sarcastically finish a post with a gentle dig at 2 people who openly admit it was for themselves and their neighbours as well as the nhs workers.

I think the idea came from a good place!

It was to show that we all recognised what they were doing for the country

We all thought we were gonna die ( the daily updates on the death toll wasn’t helpful)

Plus the NHS folk were seen as being on the front line and so at even more risk . They were risking their lives each day when the vast majority were on a long term , fully paid jolly in the good old British sunshine !!

I worked all through the covid years and each working day I felt nauseous through fear

to be fair, there was a significant proportion of the population crapping themselves, not just because they were in vulnerable groups, but because they had family members in vulnerable groups.

It was a serious disease in it's original variant

^ Even now you have to still be on the lookout for any mutations that might be more deadly.

Covid-19
back on the rise.

This could be due to Free Vaccinations
only going to the few older or disabled.

Of Course Covid-19
now not so deadly
more of a bad throat type cold.

Ch5HDnews had nice Dr. Ellie in.
