If it meant punishment for the whole house or failing the task, I would have had two.

I also wouldn't deprive a friend of going for a smoke for that long.

Yes, because, being a smoker, I know how hard it is. If you don't have one by choice, fine, but for others to take that away from them doesn't really take their feelings into account. I would have smashed that barricade down and lost the task for everyone.

I don't deny that but, if my team won, you would ultimately be in my sights. Depends which way you look at it. We all have our weak points. And unless you are a smoker you won't understand where I am coming from. Tobacco is essentially a drug after all.

I just felt a bit more understanding and compassion might have helped in that situation.

I always say put yourself in someone else's shoes and try to see it from their view even if you don't agree.
