I think it's something to do with rankings over the past few years or some sh!t. I haven't looked that deep into it, it's all free and something to watch for a month really, that's how i see it.

There is gonna be some interesting games for sure, and teams are taking it seriously.

Was quite a tame first half for them, but they're doing their best to make up for it now

How can they describe this as a competition featuring the world’s best teams ?

Interesting

I missed the PSG match so went on DAZN just then to watch a rerun of the match ..

Message said i can only access a 5 minutes clip of highlights.. to watch extended highlights or the whole thing I will have to join a monthly subscription..

Maybe you can only watch them LIVE for free

it are the world's best teams honestly, based on the UEFA ranking, AFC ranking, CAF ranking, Conmebol ranking, Concacaf ranking, Oceania ranking

but tbh europe have the best teams obviously, but decent upset of Palmeiras keeping Porto at 0-0

and Botafogo a nice 2-1 win over Seattle Sounders, even though MLS is better competition than the brazilian league

but yeah Bayern's 10-0 was just against Auckland City, they got more difficult oppoents to come in Benfica and Boca Juniors so, this was more a ''friendly'' to them, and now the real competition can begin, never underestimate Boca Juniors tbh, especially now with Miguel Angel Russo as coach (he was a former teammate of Diego Maradona btw, also a former assistent coach of Maradona's)

so the next club world cup could be with different teams, so winning points for those rankings becomes a lot more important nowadays

i like this world cup concept much more than how it was before with just 6 teams and this is a taste of the world cup next year for the USA

feels weird though to have Al Hilal competing here, and not Al Ittihad (whom won the league title this year)

but still will be interesting how Inzaghi gets on with his first games as their new manager, pressure is deffo on him by the board, since Al Hilal is the saudi's most successful team, so performing well is a must

Palmeiras were actually favourites to win that match with the bookies. And Botafogo should have thrashed Seattle from what i saw. The Brazilian league has some really solid teams.

brazilian league is good for delivering new supertalented youngsters but i personally find the MLS, and now also Saudi league more competitive + with the latter, there also is the Asian Champions League they have teams competing in, Al Hilal for example won that one quite a few times

Yeah Chelsea vs Los Angeles. Should be quite interesting. Chelsea should win comfortably.

The MLS league is certainly more attack minded, but the quality of attack is mid at best. They don't put much emphasis on defence however. Ironically, in the top Brazilian league Serie A, you don't get that many goals overall. Palmeries were solid, but a decent European team would have battered Seattle's defence last night, and had very little problem dealing with their attacks.

I would sooner play ANY US team over a Brazilian team though, the Brazilian's are more defence minded too, and have a way killing play from the opposition.

Chelsea have a Brazilian team and an American team in their group, and im calling it now that we'll have a much easier time against LA tonight than we will Flamengo later on

don't call LAFC weak please they are the better of the two LA teams nowadays, whereas Galaxy kinda faded into mid tier, below mid tier team sadly

Cherundolo is a great coach too

they have quite a decent bunch of players like Hugo Lloris, Olivier Giroud, Javairo Dilrosun, Marlon, the older of the two Tillman's: Timothy Tillman

btw Oka Nikolov is their goalkeeping coach, idk you remember him, from Bundesliga, where he played for Eintracht Frankfurt between 1995 and 2013

i follow the MLS for many many years, almost like from when there were not this many teams

Pelé also did many great things for the league, in his final years honestly (including the revival of New York Cosmos, whom more play exhibition games and semi-professional level)

audience capacity wise, the numbers look so much better than they used to be, now they are only below the NFL, NBA and MLB in terms of most popular sport in the US, they overtook the NHL recently (and that says something since ice hockey used to be HUGE)

Yeah it's cringe, FIFA are absolutely desperate to crack the US market, always have been, but they never will.

Its shockingly bad, why not stick to the tried and tested format, surely even the Americans would appreciate that
