the EBU were lucky they haven't in the last two years, otherwise eurovision would've been cancelled much sooner, because nobody wants to participate in a contest hosted in that country, as long as that regime is in power

If they did win it wouldn’t be hosted there. Same as when Ukraine won.

i am a eurofan yes, but i stand by my No Politics in eurovision stance

and Russia, Belarus are rightfully out, but Israel needs to go either, due to the war crimes they committed now, if not for all the deaths of gaza civilians, then for the deaths of humanitarian aid workers, journalists?

Why would it be dangerous to host it in Israel? They hosted it in 1979, 1999 and 2019. It's the only country in the Middle East where being gay is not a death sentence. There's a large gay community in Israel and while they don't currently offer gay marriage, they do recognise gay marriages carried out in other countries. They also have a trans community and hold a successful Pride festival every year. Gay people would be safer in Israel than in some eastern European countries. People are not thrown off roofs there merely because they're gay, you're thinking of Islamic countries.

All that said, if the war is still going on it would be unsafe for everyone, but let's hope it's finished by then.

I was more so saying because of the war. If the war wasn’t happening then I agree it would be safe to host there. I’m more worried about gay people being taken hostage or worse, killed by Hamas
