To be fair he only needs to wait <4 years, and whoever is in government next will (probably) remove that particular thieving, and harmful to our farms, tax.

So his family have built some wealth (like we all are trying to do) and they dont want an extra tax to take a lot of it away (and be squandered on sh1t by a bunch of clueless Westminster politician)

and people are saying this is wrong?

have a word with yourselves

Dungeon-related, I could see him being into D&D/table top, but I doubt he's ever been exposed to it

Well, obviously, taxing the rich will fix all government abuses and end obesity. Cameron just doesn't know any better. If the government have more money to spend on itself, then people will be happier and thus eat less food, even though they're already starving.

Sorry, I haven't a scrap of sympathy for UK farmers.
They've never cared about everyone else having to pay all taxes if eligible.

All I've ever heard from farmers is moaning and whining all of my life so far, never content, never happy.
I've no time for them.

That's a bit harsh Joey. Farmers are not like everyone else working a 9-5 with all the perks of holidays, sick pay etc. they get up at 5am 7 days a week, work all hours throughout the year, don't take holidays, don't have weekends off. There is zero separation between work and life. And doing all that doesn't bring you fame and riches, it only gives you a subsistence. But you do it because your family has always done it and because you have that relationship with the land and with your farm that is quite difficult to understand if you work from a desk. Plus there can hardly be a more important role than producing food for the country. So if farmers aren't happy I think it's important to listen to them

Entitlement is everywhere, I wouldn't say it's just a farmer thing...

He is tricking the public to gain sympathy and win the money.

The family’s old farm (the Somerset farm he talks about (Halse Farm))was on the market for over £10million and sold several months ago, I believe the family have now moved whilst he has been in the Big Brother house. They have brought a smaller farm up north which I think is fair to assume costs a lot less. From my perspective, this makes the “we need the money to save the farm” story completely false.

I know him to be an active member of the Conservative Party, even knocking on doors. I find it quite odd that he is passionate enough to canvass for them yet doesn't talk mention them on BB.

Having seen his tearful outburst, I felt compelled to tell everyone what I know. I don't trust a word he has said I will be voting for Richard.
Tbf, the Show would edit him to be a monster if he expressed Tory views as ITV lean very hardcore left politically.

Fair enough about the other stuff though, I am not knowledgeable enough on Cameron's personal life or farming to be able to form a fair opinion.

If it came across harsh I meant it to.
I haven't a scrap of sympathy for farmers.

They moan all the time, if it was farmers being listened to moaning, then nothing else would be able to be listened to .
They moan at anything and everything.

They should be paying inheritance tax as long as it's a tax in place.
They were wrongly in my view exempt from it for 40 years .
When they didn't care a jot for others having to pay it on assets over only £300,000 at a 40% rate too.
With farmers, it's at least a million starting point, only at 20% and up to 10 years interest free to pay it too.

Plus I'd like to see an on the spot inspections of farms as to the welfare of animals in their charge until sent to slaughter houses.
Because unless people don't care anything about animal life and welfare.
In farming the reports of abuse and cruelty to those animals, many with very short lives anyhow, is heartbreaking.
By Farmers and the staff they employ.

Their threats of '' no farmers no food''
Is despicable too.
I can buy loads of non UK produced goods in stores and markets.
The world is full of farming communities.

No, sorry, not a scrap of sympathy from me towards farmers.
No way.

I have to say Joey I am very surprised at this comment, food security should be at the top of any governments priorities especially in such an unstable world, given how we are at the mercy of other countries for our fuel and the escalation in prices ...the highest in Europe let me add, and trying to close the door after the horse has bolted by going green which incidentally will not bring prices down given the link with the global gas price, I dont think we should be playing fast and loose with food security

Agreed

Its difficult to believe ( and understand) why we import sooo much foodstuff when we could be growing so much more ourselves ..

( are we still paying farmers to NOT grow certain crops or as much as they can ?)

Same as our island with loads of boat yards and harbours losing our boat building industry

We shouldn’t be held to ransom by our own farmers because they don’t want to pay taxes like others have done for many years

They are not just threatening the government it’s also the people it’s the ordinary folks who are buying their produce

I'll have more respect for farmers when they stop moaning and accept everything everyone else has to that applies.

I welcome food security, plus too our farming had to to conform to the strict rules of the EU.
So it wasn't that perfect before then.
I was born and lived in a rural area through my childhood.
All I saw was angry farmers, moaning at anything and everything.
They still are.
No one is saying they shouldn't be rewarded at times as many other occupations should be in fact.
However I'm fed up of them moaning.
Then virtually demanding they shouldn't pay a tax too that others have to.

The vast majority of them supported brexit too.
Yet now they're moaning about that too.
It's like it's inbred into farmers to just never be satisfied and always seek special treatment.

I'm afraid for most of my life and right now still at present, I'm not going to be sympathetic to farmers.
Sorry for that but they absolutely irritate me with their constant whinging.
