There is zero separation between work and life. And doing all that doesn't bring you fame and riches, it only gives you a subsistence. But you do it because your family has always done it and because you have that relationship with the land and with your farm that is quite difficult to understand if you work from a desk. Plus there can hardly be a more important role than producing food for the country. So if farmers aren't happy I think it's important to listen to them
If it came across harsh I meant it to.
I haven't a scrap of sympathy for farmers.

They moan all the time, if it was farmers being listened to moaning, then nothing else would be able to be listened to .
They moan at anything and everything.

They should be paying inheritance tax as long as it's a tax in place.
They were wrongly in my view exempt from it for 40 years .
When they didn't care a jot for others having to pay it on assets over only £300,000 at a 40% rate too.
With farmers, it's at least a million starting point, only at 20% and up to 10 years interest free to pay it too.

Plus I'd like to see an on the spot inspections of farms as to the welfare of animals in their charge until sent to slaughter houses.
Because unless people don't care anything about animal life and welfare.
In farming the reports of abuse and cruelty to those animals, many with very short lives anyhow, is heartbreaking.
By Farmers and the staff they employ.

Their threats of '' no farmers no food''
Is despicable too.
I can buy loads of non UK produced goods in stores and markets.
The world is full of farming communities.

No, sorry, not a scrap of sympathy from me towards farmers.
No way.
