Has anyone been following this....
Brooklyn Beckham has to be one of the most spoilt Nepo babies out there.. today he 'broke his silence' after all the misinformation his parents have spread....not seen any misinformation, just that he blocked them on social media when they liked one of his cooking posts.... anyhow its all because Victoria said she would make the dress, then she didn't, apparently they dont like his new wife...boo hoo...and thats the drama that he is trying to milk for all its worth, poor David and Victoria they really dont deserve a bratty brat like him

This Witch doesn't burn

Brooklyn Beckham has launched an astonishing attack on his parents and claimed he has been “controlled by a family that value public promotion above all else”.
The 26-year-old eldest son of David and Victoria addressed their long-standing feud in a six page statement posted to Instagram on Monday night. Brooklyn announced he has no wish to reconcile with his family and is “standing up” for himself “for the first time” in his life. The former photographer wrote in the post: “For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into. “Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they'll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always come out.” Brooklyn, who married model and heiress Nicola Peltz, 31, in April 2022, claimed that: “My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped.” Peltz’s parents are the billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz and model Claudia Heffner. Brooklyn alleged in his post that his mother Victoria had “cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.” Brooklyn also confirmed previous reports that his mother “hijacked” the first dance at the wedding, writing: “In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me. “She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everybody. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.” He added that the couple “wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarassment.” He also claimed that: “My mum has repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable.” It was reported last May that Brooklyn and Nicola “snubbed” his father David’s milestone 50th birthday party, but Brooklyn wrote that in fact the couple had traveled to London for the event but “were rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him.” Brooklyn continued: “He refused all our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and camera at every corner. When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited. It was a slap in the face. Later, when my family travelled to LA, they refused to see me at all.” Concluding his statement, Brooklyn wrote: “My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first.” He claimed that he and his wife had “gone out of our way for years to show up and support at every fashion show, every party, and every press activity to show ‘our perfect family.’ But the one time my wife asked for my mum’s support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused.” He also hit out at the “narrative that my wife controls me”, calling it “completely backwards.” “I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life,” he wrote. “I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared. I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief. “My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want is peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.” Just astounding

Going off-topic for a second.
It sounds like Starmer is trying to make the UK Internet become like China's.

I had recently thought of starting a thread on stories in the news we don't care one iota about, and this is the story that made me consider it. I am beyond bored of seeing headlines about this on news websites.

I remember seeing a discussion video about all these'nepo babies' ,and how Brooklyn is only getting all this publicity anyway... because of who his parents are . I saw a clip of him as a guest showing his ' cooking ', I think he was just making a simple sausage sandwich lol ...I just can't . But anyway the host was trying to engage him in conversation about food and his interests,it was like talking to a wooden spoon .

First and foremost, my opinion on this is on the basis everything he is said is true, which of course it may not be.
I've spent the last decade eye-rolling at Brooklyn as he obtains platforms thanks to his wealth and status (by extension, his parents wealth and status) to try his hand [poorly] at his hobbies as if he was a professional in the subject. His photography book was particularly bad for him, he was the subject of a lot of critique and mocking at the age of 17. His parents have some responsibility for that, but this is to preface that I am by no means a Brooklyn fan. However, his version of events creates a toxic picture. It's not so much about the individual examples he gives, some of which are mild and others which are just bizarre and unhealthy, but it's about the picture it paints of ownership D&V seem to feel over their own child. While it's easy to say BB should be grateful for all D&V have done, and the opportunities having them as parents will have obviously granted him, if such opportunities are paired with a controlling parentage, where you are treated like a business partner and your time is only valued if it helps build the family brand, then it all means nothing. Brooklyn didn't ask to be born, and didn't ask to be born into wealth and fame. D&V did what they were responsible in doing: raising a child and providing for said child but they chose to do that publicly and performatively from the get-go. There is probably a raft of celebrity/social media babies finally developing their prefrontal cortex realising their entire life has been orchestrated by what looks best to strangers on the internet and resenting their parents for it. Their treatment of Nicola seems particularly gross and unwelcoming and Victoria hijacking their wedding dance is beyond the cliche of 'unhealthy overbearing mother' trope movies like to play out. Having said all of that, the Peltz family have their own issues and Nicola's reputation is questionable to say the least. There is no smoke without fire and there has been a lot of smoke - loads of allegations about abusive behaviour to staff and just general awful behaviour to get her way. Has he just gone from being controlled by one rich family to being controlled by another? Quite possibly. Did the Beckham's have rightful concerns about Nicola and the family he was marrying into? Quite possibly. Should they manipulate awkwardness to try and cause a rift in Brooklyn and Nicola's relationship? No. It's a shame he has burnt his bridges, particularly when the family he will be left with is equally as questionable - if not more - but we also just don't know how his upbringing has affected him mentally. While sad, it's okay to walk away from family. Children don't owe their parents anything. Responsibility follows choice, of which David and Victoria made when they had him. If they screwed their child up because they raised him in an unhealthy, demanding, controlling environment which bled into adulthood, he's every right to cut ties. I feel sorry for him. I totally buy into his life being orchestrated by what is good for the Beckham brand. I can't imagine what that is like. Sounds like they probably all need therapy. I cannot shake the feeling this pattern will repeat with Nicola and her family in years to come and without help he'll just continue to leap from one controlling relationship/family dynamic to the next. It feels like it's classic self-sabotage. Last edited by BBXX; Today at 06:57 AM. |

According to Vogue who covered the wedding, for cash, obviously... Brooklyn and his wife had their first dance to Can't Help Falling In Love... Then the father of the bride danced with his daughter, then later at 11pm brooklyn danced with his mother. So someone's lying and I'm looking at you, Brooklyn.
Brooklyn's major malfunction is that he's never had to try for anything, he's never had to work for anything and he has never had to be good at anything and his over-privileged wife is the same. They have a lot of time to obsess about trivial **** and make it seem important. 50% of marriages fail and this shallow, superfluous pair seem destined to fail because something, at some time, won't be perfect. Good luck to him when that happens because right now all his boats are burning. And that's it... It was amusing, but I refuse to spend any more time giving these spoiled children the attention they crave

I don't believe what he says about the Dance at the Wedding...there is no way his mum would make his first dance about her and deny him that with his wife.
Had that happened it would, I am sure, have been headlines at the time. |

What an awful thing to lie about though if he has done. I saw another article today saying the the dress designer said they were a year designing her dress as well so that bit sounds like BS too. How horrible

these people don't live in a world of reality. It used to be described as born with a silver spoon, but these days, it's magnified a million times. They don't deal in reality any more, they create their own. They know that a significant proportion of people will believe them. This is happening everywhere and is completely insane, but it is the world we now live in

Of course there would. Probably Vogue would have at least mentioned it in passing.
