And Stu, wasnt it an attempt last year to beat the Xfactor song, by voting for the original, or the older version of Halleluyah! Oh the irony!

Oh come on, that's a cheap cop out. It's a monopolized singles market spearheaded by a multi millionaire who has access to a dizzying amount of advertising platforms versus a viral internet movement.

We all just happen to be buying the one song because it makes sense. It's a collective gesture. That's the idea. I imagine our success would be severely hampered if we all bought a different single, wouldn't you?

don't get me wrong, I am supporting it even though its a rubbish song, but the tag line for the campaign is kind of ironic

Same.

I would prefer x factor getting it to some rage against the machine song ( they wont get number one anyway )

But if they chose an actual christmas song, or brought a new one out i would hope that got it.

Yeah it pretty much defeats the purpose of the cause if they're trying to stop X Factor getting the christmas number one.

Not really, considering it's a protest and they are using one of the most well known protest songs of the 21st century. It's not a Christmas song, sure, but it's not a Christmas song they are protesting against anyway.

I think this is more going against Cowell's monopoly than actually the notion of what a Christmas song should be. I doubt they would have protested Girls Aloud 7 years ago.

The whole point behind Killing In The Name is to protest and defy whats been put upon you...i dont think you could get a better song (Except the pogues)
