Default For All Those Who Have Lost Faith,

For The Last 2 years Sharon powers ex executive producer promised us zero tolerance and expect the unexpected, she basically destroyed what ever faith we had left in big brothers big come back, Its probably too late now but i utterly 100% have my faith in Shirley Jones, if you Rember back 6 years the change she brought upon big brother 5 was huge on a massive scale i beleave this year with cbb and summer big brother she can bring upon these changes again and make us all fall in love with the big brother we once loved to death, so i ask everyone to get behind Shirley Jones and give her the support she needs to carry off a good series people should forget about the what ifs and what it could have been now is the time for change and they should just enjoy it.

False theory for me. I loved Big Brother 10. Joint second best series along with Big Brother 6. In my opinion of course.
I don't give a damn about who's producing it or not as long as the show is great.

Things were different years ago though. Big Brother was only in it's fifth year and the controversial edgy BB was a new concept in the UK. You cant reinvent the same wheel six years later on the same scale.

And at the end of the day, it all depends how good the housemates turn out to be, not who the producer is.

Big Brother has reached the point where it can't go any further in its current form. The only way forward for BB is to make it into a game orientated show. I did believe thats what they were doing with BB9 by putting everything in place for a full scale relaunch for BB10 but it never materialised

If BB does come back a few years down the line I hope to god they stop rehashing the same twists which they've had since 2004

i don't care who's producing it, my general mood is that i couldn't give a **** about big brother anymore. you could tell me cheryl cole was producing it and i still wouldn't watch it.

this is probably the case with most of britain. what the show has become, the way it's perceived now....no new or old producer can change that.

TBH I think something major must have happened behind the scenes before BB10, possibly with Channel 4 budget constraints, because it should have been a huge relaunch yet there was absoloutely nothing new in it.

But with Celebrity BB Head of House getting their own bedroom, I think it paved the way for an evolution rather than a relaunch for BB10. They should have built on the whole HOH thing and turned it a bit more game orientated. Instead we got a repeat of BB8.

I think part of the downfall of BB10 was due to the opening night. If it was just a regular opening night with a different twist, I think things would have turned out much differently. The last time they tried something so different was BB8, look what happened there.

The opening night was just soul destroying. Painting glasses on someone's face? What were they thinking?

I thought this thread was about Religon when I clicked on the title lmao

Well Sharron Powers did a good job with BB9, her best work yet.
She was obviously on coke the entire series of BB10 and ****ed it up.

So lets hope your right and Shirley does a good job with it, because if she does then BB will have a better chance of being picked up by another brodcaster

Sharon's best work is CBB4 followed by BB6.

BB9 was really good but not THAT good

If she rescued BB with series 5 then anything's possible. That was amazing! Although I doubt BB will ever again have that "spark" it did back then, it could still be made good enough to get people interested!

Not throwing in HM's partners or ex-housemates would be a start.

No contact with the outside world should mean just that.

CBB4 was ridiculously well pulled off. It's up there with the best of the summer series's.

I think it was a disaster on paper. A non celebrity who was more famous than half of the cast who became a predictable winner, plus a few token has beens. Celebrity guest appearance from Jimmy Saville so cut off from the outside world rule broken almost straight away.

Yet it was entertaining and extremely gripping, and not even in a car crash way like most other series of BB. Also on most CBB series', we don't really get to know them as well as we do in the summer but CBB4 felt like it had been on forever (in a good way). IMO it is the best series ever.

CBB4 was awful, saved only by Pete Burns. Sharon was too fond of her showmances.

CBB4 was the show at it's best, and the cycles of BB5/CBB3 and BB6/CBB6 showed how the series should be done and then evolve for the following celeb series.

Anyhow, back to the topic at hand and I'm delighted Shirley Jones is back - only wish they'd bought her in this time last year before it was too late. From what I've read she seems to know what needs doing too - and I've gone from having absolutely no interest in the show a few weeks back to actually looking forward to Celeb BB returning now.

Another thing that gives me faith is Celebrity Hijack. OK, I know it splits opinion but it showed that how from the ashes of an incredibly poor series (in that case, BB8) you can get something great - and Celebrity Hijack is one of my favourite series of recent years, and I know a lot of the people I've discussed the show with over the years online (elsewhere) share that view too. It shows that just because BB10 was excruciatingly awful, the subsequent winter series can still be outstandingly brilliant - and that's the hope I'm clinging on to.

The thing about Big Brother, and I guess its why I always come back to BB no matter how awful the previous series is, the next can be great because a series is made by the housemates. BB7 had shocking production yet I thought it was an alright series, whilst I can hardly fault the production of BB4 and CBB6, yet the housemate selection was terrible and let the whole series down.

As long as they get the housemate selection right, BB can in theory, as Davina always says, go on forever. They just need to keep it fresh each time which they've been failing to do since 2006.

Disagree with that actually - saying it's all about the casting is just producers being lazy, as if the housemates aren't given the platform to entertain, there is no show - yet a well produced series can bring out the best in a rather average cast of housemates. (e.g. when you look at it on paper, BB3 didn't have a great cast at all, but throw in the format and it all just clicked!).

Also with BB Australia I've always said with the last couple of series the actual cast was rather good - but the producers really let them down by not giving them the opportunity to create legendary moments.

Conversely in BBUSA the line up of housemates often isn't anything to shout home about, especially as the biggest characters are often voted out in the early stages, but the core format is so strong it carries the show in it's final weeks.

I liked BB9 and 10, however I agree with you that Shirley was the best producer, producing my best BBUK series, and my 2nd favourite BB worldwide series (BBAU8 just beats it for me).
