A few more and we can rename it CBB USA and have done with it.
They are alien to our culture, surely the producers could find 10 Brits who would welcome 30-50k to prance about for a couple of weeks. |

I think there is only 3 Americans this year. Heidi Fliess, Stephen Baldwin and Sissoq. Final 3 maybe?

Only 30%! Plus two residents.
Wouldn't it be wonderfully surprising and interesting if for once we could experience another culture which isn't constantly trying to swamp our own. Could we cope with someone from France, Australia, South Africa and learn something about that big beautiful world out there which isn't controlled by Disney or Fox? |

"Why do you hate Americans so much Patrick? "
They hold a special position in the world (one we held in the past) where their size and economic power allow them to dominate others' cultures or even displace them. If the Basshunter were to dominate CBB this year it would not concern me at all since Sweden does not threaten the other cultures of the world. "Does it really matter where they're from? As long as they're interesting housemates it's irrelevant" Yes it does, let's get the interest and entertainment from a wider variety of cultures. As you say, it doesn't matter where they are from, so why are they so predominantly from the USA? "Americans and Brits are pretty interchangeable these days." If that is true it is very sad, I really hope it isn't. " Last edited by RCW1945; 04-01-2010 at 04:56 PM. |
