Default 'Big Fat Gypsy Weddings' star for Celebrity Big Brother

Big Fat Gypsy Weddings star Paddy Doherty is reportedly being lined up to appear in Celebrity Big Brother.

The 52-year-old, who hit the headlines when he appeared in the hit Channel 4 series, has signed a deal to take part in the reality show, according to The Sun.

Channel 5 bosses hope that Doherty's involvement will help the returning series attract some of the millions who tuned in for My Big Fat Gypsy Weddings earlier this year.

"Paddy will have to get used to a house on Big Brother," an insider told the paper. "But he is up for the challenge of doing the reality show and can't wait to get involved."

Amy Childs, Kerry Katona and Sarah Ferguson are among those who have been linked to Celebrity Big Brother, while claims Charlie Sheen would appear have been denied by his representatives.

A show spokesperson added: "Executives are currently in talks with a number of celebrities, but we're not confirming any names at the moment."

Celebrity Big Brother, hosted by Brian Dowling, kicks off on Channel 5 later this month.

I wouldn't normally like to see people like him in the house. However, seeing as he's one of the "stars" of Channel 4's new biggest show and this would essentially be a middle finger up at them, I'm all for this happening
