I'm going through a bit of a Benjamin Button ie I look younger than I used to look and it's because I started dying my hair 3 years ago.
I started going grey v early.
Anyway since then and recently I've been asked for id when buying rizlas and cigs (had to show my roots) and also I've been mistaken for being my younger sister's little brother.
When I meet someone I like I'm almost always hesitant in telling them my true age, I always do though (as you can tell from my profile) but I've been thinking I can shave maybe 5-6 years off and when they find out I can say (maybe) it's because they might not have liked me if I was older.
Is this totally immoral?
Has anyone else done this?
Any experiences?

i forget how old i am but i dont intentionally lie but i was 33 for a few years i just actually thought i was 33.

Yes...and it varies depending on the situation.

Most of the time it's saying I'm 18 in order for me to have alcohol. Got into a 15 in the cinema when I was 13 by lying as well (although they didn't actually ask my age).

I think there's been a couple of occasions where I've tried to pretend I'm younger in order to obtain a cheaper bus/train ticket, but in fact most of the time I'm having to prove or persuade the people that I am the age that I genuinely am, because they don't believe it.

When you are younger you make out you are older, and when you are older, you want others to think you are younger. I can see the point of lying about your age when you are younger to get into cinemas, pubs,clubs etc, but not the other way round. Unless you are at retirement age or some other reason? Or unless you wanted to go on an 18-30 holiday for instance. Can't really think of many reasons for people to make out they are younger than they actually are?

Another reason somebody might lie about their age and state they were younger is when dating someone.

I never lie about my age, i don't see the point.... but sometimes I forget how old I am and add a year by mistake.

I'm quite lucky tho as people always think I'm about 5-10 years younger than my real age...I still get asked for ID too and have done since I was 25 , it should be annoying but I take it as a compliment...Funny thing is I never got asked for ID when I was in my teens/ early twenties, although that could be because I used to wear loads more make up and I think they are much stricter now than in the olden days

I manage to get into 15 movies easily (but I'm 15 in 2 months so that's not massive) so I don't even have to lie there, I'm usually allowed in. But then on the train the people look at me suspiciously when I hand them my child ticket even though I'm not lying about my age. I've only ever lied about my age on forums when I was like 11, but no one even suspected I was younger than 13 which made me laugh.

Yeah like people have said I've lied about being older than I am for drinking and stuff, but also said I'm younger than I am to get some things cheaper. At Gloucestershire cricket games it's often Ł1 if you're under 18 but Ł10 if you're 18 or over so it makes sense to lie and they never question it
