The public is becoming more and more accepting of game players and entertainers in BB. 3 years ago, they would've NEVER come as far as 2nd place. It's actually great to see, and thank you Channel 5 for creating a vote to save - it has ended up being the best thing about C5 BB. Now, if only the public's acception of entertainers and gameplaying had come a little bit sooner - then Karissa & Kristina would have been awarded their rightful winning title on CBB9.

Let's hope this trend continues with the regular summer series.

I think this is mostly only true for celeb BB. Theres no way spiedi would have lasted 10 weeks, until the final of a regular series. As much as I loved them, their fame and the short duration of the series was mostly what made them last.

I don't think Aaron had lots of support because he was a game player, I think it was more the fact that Big Brother blatantly had it in for him & tried their hardest for him to not win...

Aaron winning just meant that viewership was small and the flukes of FB voting allowed the forums to control the voting as a fringe group

I agree. I also felt that this time around the support for the 'entertainers' was more of a 50/50 split whereas I've felt in previous series that it's been more around the 35% mark on the side of the entertainment in the 'entertainment vs nice people' or housemate in the 'housemate vs person' debate, which has been refreshing. We've definitely had a lot more people on our side to help back us up which is good not quite there yet though.

But yeah, I hope this continues. We've got second, now it's about 1st. We had glimpses of it with Aaron (and he's still the best winner ever) but for me, he didn't play the game nearly as much as Speidi did. So hopefully we'll get there this summer...we have a lot of obstacles to defeat first though.

What's funny is that people constantly slag HMs off for being 'fake' and now here we are celebrating the fact that 'fake' HMs are being accepted?

Btw, i don't have a problem with gameplaying/fake HMs at all, but many on here apparently do and go on and on and on and on and on about it.............and yet here we are celebrating them.

If it was the ''MTV'' fans like you've been saying Arista, wouldnt the ratings of been way higher than what they were? the ratings have been the same as they always have, so it just shows that the people who have watched this series are the same ones that have been watching for years. not just the ''MTV'' fans that you seem so convinced to be

The only people for whom a HM's game-playing is any kind of a factor are those who have a phobia of being 'taken in' or 'fooled'.
I suspect that most of them belong to the tinfoil-hat brigade.

When someone's so bad at faking it that it's actually visible, it tends to become carcrash TV more than anything else.

I didn't like Speidi for their 'entertainment' value, I didn't hate them for playing a role.

I just liked them for who they are.
And I'm sorry to anyone who can't accept that, but theyre just gunna have to deal with the fact that a lot of people see decency as human beings in them.

Yes, and it proved they had far more fans than just the people on here as some seemed to believe.
It's funny though how at the time, who will win seems like the most important thing ever but the day after I don't even care. Really, so long as the gameplayers make the final - that's all I really need. Ranking high is just a bonus.
