Default Channel 5 were actually quite clever...

...in the way they outed the second launch show in the preliminaries yesterday, so channel 4 would assume that was it (and schedule MPD against it) only to get the head start on them and release the first launch show. I bet they knew Channel 4 would try and play dirty.

The fact that Channel 4 are even trying stunts like this illistrates that they do to some extent regret getting rid of Big Brother. Nothing has captured the imagination of the public in quite the same way has it?

They must be bitter to a certain extent, BB performed really well for them. It dwindled slightly over the last few years on C4, but it's really alive on Channel 5.

It nowhere near has the same viewership as it did over on C4, but it's still ticking over on Channel 5, and by C5 standards, it's doing pretty amazing for them... so they must be gutted.

Everything they have tried since Big Brother has failed tbqh - they're so bitter it's unreal.

Agreed, remember all those shows they launched after cancelling BB and how the flopped. Can't remember what one was called, but it followed a group of people, and then the public could go on the website and get involved. Didn't that flop big time?

I agree in that I think Channel 5 were being sneaky with the preliminaries yesterday, but I don't think it was specifically aimed at C4.

And to be fair to C4, Million Pound Drop's return date was confirmed as June 14th in Broadcast magazine a week ago.
