Same question applies to anyone who lives in a different country.
Many people moan about living in the UK, but if you were given a free ticket to make a permanent move abroad... would you take it? If so, where would you go? Would you be willing to give up everything and take up a new life somewhere else accepting their different culture, tv, rules, laws, food etc? Or would you rather stay here? I wouldn't mind living abroad for a couple of years. I've become interested in Canada recently, i'd love to experience living in one of their freezing cold winters. I recently read online that some areas can average -20/30 around January time. I'm not sure if I could ever move permanently though, i'd miss things too much. Especially my family!

I had that choice recently, but I chose to remain. I do have commitments here that made things a bit more difficult, but if I didn't have those, then I would definitely do it.

I would love to live in the USA, Sweden or Germany. Or Canada. I'd happily relocate to any of those.

No. I love where i live. I think this is a brilliant country to live in. Not knocking other countries. There are lots of places I'd like to spend a year in...or a few years...just for the experience, but this is my home and I can't imagine anywhere I'd prefer to live

I don't live in the UK but yes, I would leave Ireland in a heartbeat if it were possible.

Well, if I go then I will have literally nowhere to stay, we need to have an apartment secured before I can go, there's already a lot saved but it's a bit below the price of somewhere to stay, so it's going to be two years at most before I move there for good.

I'd like to live in a country where there are 4 seasons, not 11 months a year of summer. My 1st choice would probably be Germany also because I love the language and there are some of my relatives who live in Munich, although I'd rather live in Berlin.

Well, I learned a few words when I was there last week but it's one of those languages that you really have to immerse yourself in. I would love to learn it at home but I don't have any reliable resources.

No. I'd love to travel more but I'd always want my home to be in the UK.
I know people complain, but it's not that bad. Or at least it wasn't. These er... changes are happening all over the world. |
