I see, so its when its used to describe female sexual readiness then its offensive. But what about wet or dripping? I suppose if moist is put with panties or knickers or gusset then it could be seen as offensive.

As you saw in the video it's doesn't even have to be used to describe female readiness, but that is what it is a reminder of.

Wet or dripping are annoying too but not as annoying as moist. There is just something about moist.

I've never heard anything more ridiculous in my entire life.....
It does sound like a comedy sketch, 'moist' in the context of cake is the least offensive word, unless it was said with a tongue in cheek humour that some may find unsavoury ( unsavoury, cake...geddit?)

who put moist in the context of cake? was it before or after the word was put in context for vagina? english language needs to stop rehashing words for things so different from each other. People get traumatised from young age.

What are your thoughts? What do you think of the word 'moist' and when did it become a taboo word?

Woah Slow down. I was only intending to discuss the incident I had at work didnt think I was gonna get a deconstruction of the English language.

It's pathetic, making sexual connotations about a word...
Words don't have two meanings it means exactly the same just depends what you use it in relation to?
What the heck is wrong with moist?

I guarantee if you use that word enough times someone will object to it. Try it and post your findings.

I will! I'm going to do it everywhere
' don't overwater the plant just ensure the soil is a bit moist'
' moisten the stamp before putting it on the envelope'
' My skin is dry I need to apply some moisturiser under my make up'.....
I don't see why it has to be hijacked and morphed into some benny hillesque eyebrow raising euphemism.

I dont know about anyone else, but I started finding the word disgusting after seeing this meme a long time ago.

I know its ridiculous, but I always think of this when I hear the word, hence hating it

When you say it you have to do a sitcom style 'nudge nudge Oooohh what have I said' face to accentuate it. I say it all the time now. Its quickly become one of my fave words.
