My point is, those people who are idiots will think that regardless of him. But I'm comfortable enough with my sexuality to know that he does not represent all gays and yes, you will get guys like him who are gay, so, who cares. Who get all sorts of different straight people, nice nuts, awful and *****. Same for gays.

This should not be about his sexuality, people are just using that as another reason to hate him. If you hate him, you hate him, fine.

I think Michelle made her comments from a place of being afraid of more generalisations being made about gay people. This is wrong because nobody should have to act a certain way to "dispel" misconceptions made about the group of people to which they belong and identify with/their community. It is morally perverse to guilt-trip him into behaving well by using his sexuality as the trigger. Nobody has to cater to the racists/homophobes of the public.

Yes but this isn't about you its about a hell of a lot of people who still stereotype gays as these screeching, pervey queens and Michelle has worked hard with the LGBT community to dash those views out.

She was genuinely upset because she feels Perez is portraying us gay people in a bad light and I respect her for standing up for us.

OK first of all if you'd actually watch the show before judging it you'd realise that it's a community that's as diverse and fractured as any, and isn't all about one sort of lifestyle or way of life at all - in fact the show thrives off of the diversity and the differences of 'drag' (there's comedy drag, pageantry drag, alternative/horror drag, 'classic' drag...)

And yes, the shrill, attention-seeking, obnoxious ***** on the show are rightly pulled to pieces and told to **** off quite promptly The people who do well on the show are incredibly talented, likeable people and RuPaul & Michelle are really admirable, caring mentors.

So yeah, whilst I think her fears that Perez is now going to be "how people perceive gays" are a bit naive and unnecessary since anyone with a brain is going to realise that twats are twats, not gays are twats, I think she's just exhausted over having to live with such an attention-seeking, toxic cunt.

(Don't get me wrong - I'm enjoying him massively as a housemate - but he is still a terrible human being and has been responsible for saying so many awful, heinous things, literally stalking celebrities, writing hideous stuff like 'Britney should've died, not Heath Ledger'... and we would ALL hate to live with him).
