It was originally meant for cinema but from what I can gather they needed more money to film more scenes (and more kills) so set up a deal with DirectTV.

Talk is that Lionsgate have no faith in the film as slashers haven't done well in theaters recently

It's probably because slashers haven't been the craze for like over 20 years now. It was remakes and now it's supernatural.

Yeah by recently I meant last few years

Final Girls was a comedy slasher that was meant to do well and get a full cinema release but the studio dumped it on dvd even after it did really wellat festivals. It is seen it as a flop even though it deserved better. Most get released direct to dvd because of Scream 4 being such a dissapointment for the studio

I actually think it looks good. I hope it isn't horrible at least. I really need the slasher genre to be revitalised.

This was bad but I expected even worse. I still give it like a 5/10 though and that's a shame for a TCM movie.

Kinda sad that this is part of the TCM series. I even enjoyed the 2013 one and the two before that were amazing.
