Again I have to add that how one says something is as important as what one is saying.

This is a basic aspect of communication that I'm constantly getting the feeling people wish was not the case.

This is an issue that is sensitive for many people, and one that can be tackled without getting angry and being (let's face it, often deliberately) offensive "in outrage". There's no need and it's not going to help the case, either. More people will listen if the dialogue is compassionate rather than combative .
