I'd just like to know what people think of this...
Due to all this social distancing, I thought the best way to get out and exercise and not come into direct contact with people, was to use a cycle.
One problem. My cycle was in the shed with a flat tyre. Anyway, having had a few punctures on that bike, it didn't take an Einstein to work out it needed new tyres as well as the inner tube replaced.
I took the bike to the repair shop and he did the job, new tyres and inner tube. My brother went to pick the bike up for me in his van and brought it to the house. It looked fine but when I tried it out on the road I nearly had an accident because the brakes weren't working.. And they had been before.
So I rang up the shop and the bloke's wife said her hubby never touched the brakes. I said, but he'd put new tyres on. She said yes but he never touched the brakes. I thought he must have done something because the brakes were working when the bike was brought into the shop.
Anyway, I expected more sense off him and when he came out he said the same thing, that he hadn't touched the brakes. I found this very odd behaviour. The point is he gave a bike back to the customer without testing the brakes. Nuts or what. Coupled with he was giving me back a dangerous bike.
Reluctantly he fixed the bike but what a loony. No apology or nothing.
A rather longwinded story but do you think I am being unreasonable expecting the bike to be returned with the brakes working???
