He worse in Karate Kid 3 - eg. using his money to open a bonsai shop for Mr Miyagi. I've been watching / re-watching the original films before Cobra Kai season 3 starts...

First one is still great. Second one I remember watching years ago and thought it's a bit boring, but didn't remember anything about it apart from it being set in Japan. When I saw it again I thought again... this is a bit dull.

Third one is alright until the end when the villains turn cartoonish, and the tournament really kills it - Daniel can't seem to fight at all.

I haven't watch Next Karate Kid yet but I've heard it is quite bad.
