I wonder how each individual ends up being straight, gay, lesbian etc?

I wonder how nature decides stuff like that, plus our preferences within what sexuality that you personally identify as?

For example how does a man who likes athletic looking women with blonde hair, end up having that as his main preference?

Or a guy who likes redheads or black women?

It kind of fascinates me.
