In summary:
Of course he could fly back and too, but although never a hands on mentor it would make a mockery of the show, especially in the US, should he be mentoring acts on both at the same time Option 2 is he quits - not one ITV will be happy with. Option 3 is he axes it - not one ITV will be happy with. Option 4 is it moves from the lucrative pre-Christmas slots - not one ITV will be happy with.
