A human life is more important than an animals life in the same way that an American life is more important than a non-American's life, and a member of my family's life is more valuable than someone who's not a member of my family's life.
There are scales of loyalty.
First comes Family, Then comes Country, Then comes Species.
LOYALTY is important.
