There seems to be a lot of hate for Jack Caroll all over the place....It totally mystifies me....He tailored his material and his unique delivery for the show.
Some thought it was wrong of him to laugh at his own health problems, such as his "Im told Ive got funny bones, don't laugh its a serious medical condition"....his opening line in the semis "simmer down, you don't cheer when I take your parking spaces at tescos"...."Ive done reality tv, I audtioned for strictly but they haven't come back, brucie doesn't think its for kids"""... other topical stuff like"theyre replacing cowell as a judge next year with north koreas dictator, but they wont let him press the red button, theyre very similar, one forces crocodile tears from his subjects, the other is a communist dictator.... his last gag he says "Ive recently started collecting for the charity scope.....he waves a £20 note.....but then I figured Id cut out the middle man and keep the money" ![]() Comedy is subjective of course....I think he's a genius. I also think people who gloss over how brave it is for a 14 year old in a wheelchair to do stand up comedy (sit down as he calls it) are missing the point. 1) try doing stand up anywhere 2) try doing it in a wheelchair and with cerebral palsey I found his thoroughly likeable and professional beyond his years...Ultimately he will be judged like all comics on its funniness and I think his jokes were all superb and his delivery was even better. Id happily buy a tickt to his gigs |
