The result is pre determined, but a lot of the stuff they do is still taxing to their bodies and they obviously need to have the skill to pull off some moves(safely too) also regardless of the result being pre determined the match can still be "epic" due to the competitor's performances and te entertainment.

Alot of his popularity came down to his persona and entertainment more than anything anyway I believe.
