It really is sad. I think for crimes of this nature, the fact that they were 13/14 should be irrelevant. The law being the way it is suggests that a 13 year old might not realise that doing something like this is wrong, which is utterly stupid frankly. No ordinary 13 year old would ever contemplate doing anything like this. I can understand age appropriate sentencing for lesser crimes, as depending on the crime maturity might be a factor. But a brutal murder like this, immaturity has
nothing to do with it. I think there has to be something inherently wrong/evil/twisted in someone to do that and they need to be locked away for life regardless of how old they are. Makes me angry thinking about it.
