It is not an uncommon or strange decision to make either.
My dad died of pancraitic cancer and didnt tell anyone he had it until the final 2 months. We all respected his decision. Why wouldn't we as its his life and he will alqays be our dad.
Anyway, hes out of hospital now so it couldnt have been as bad as you all thought and it is all just sensationalised by the papers.

So since Friday he's gone from life support to being discharged
as if they would have attended the wrap party if his life was in danger
