Anyway biscuits are crunchy and gravy is a total no no

They aren't the same in North America. I bake both of them often. I'll throw a cheeky batch of biscuits in the oven when I'm making chilli or soup. They are denser and are closer to a bun without leavening. Scones can be sweet or savoury and are fluffier mostly because you mix them less add more butter and buttermilk and baking soda and powder.

If you've never tried them both... You can't claim they are the same

Cobbler, scones made with flour, water and suet, for a topping on a savoury meat casserole, tuna casserole etc,or add sugar for a fruit cobbler.
Scones, butter instead of suet.
