Simply wearing a kimono in of itself isn't cultural appropriation. Sharing Japanese customs and traditions is actually a big part of Japanese culture, as long as you aren't being disrespectful, most japanese people are glad to share their culture with anyone who wants to partake.
Cultural appropriation is a more complex thing than just wearing clothes, it's about intent and more.
